LSE’s ‘1000 companies to inspire Britain’

VGC Group is included in the London Stock Exchange report ‘1000 companies to Inspire Britain’.

This report identifies the UK’s fastest-growing and most dynamic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). To be included in the list, companies needed to show consistent revenue growth over a minimum of three years. They have also all outperformed their sector peers in terms of revenue, growth, employee numbers, and other selection criteria.

VGC Group Managing Director Laurence Mckidd said: “This accolade is a tribute to the hard work of all our staff, in offices and on worksites around the UK. At VGC we are open and honest, and we strive to outperform for our clients: that is why we will continue to succeed.”

Xavier Rolet, CEO of the London Stock Exchange Group, said “The 1,000 companies highlighted in our report are growing at an average of 50% a year. Because high growth companies’ success tends to be based on innovation, rather than the strict cost control typical of large cap, the jobs they create are usually higher skilled and higher paid.

“We want to shine a light on what we know to be true: that these companies are the engine of the UK economy. The consequence of their growth is apparent nationwide. Not just from more, higher quality jobs but in higher tax receipts, helping to fund public services and infrastructure spending. The success of our high growth businesses is tangibly and inextricably tied to the success of the country.”

Writing in the publication, the Rt. Hon. George Osborne MP said: “UK high-growth businesses are leading the charge in rebuilding our economy. These companies are the backbone of the British economy. They create high-quality, well paid jobs, innovate and drive economic growth.”
