There’s really only one thing to remember about social media: think before you post.

What you do in your own time is up to you, but remember that your personal life isn’t ever really private online.

So please don’t say anything that would bring VGC or our clients into disrepute.

That includes:

  • suggesting you approve of (or take part in) activities that are illegal
  • taking part in racial harassment or bullying
  • saying anything that discriminates against someone because of age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, pregnancy, religion, race or marital status
  • giving out someone else’s confidential information.

Use common sense:

  • Only say online what you would be happy to say out loud in a big meeting.
  • You don’t have to agree with everyone, but be respectful if you disagree.
  • Never post anonymously.
  • Don’t show behaviour that could be considered unsafe.
  • Be aware that a series of items may add up to reveal more than you might think.

If you’re not sure, wait 24 hours first!

If VGC or a client has a problem:

  • Don’t answer any questions on social media or email or phone
  • Don’t tweet or share anything about it
  • Refer all enquiries to the head office communications team
