Who manages trades and labour?
Our labour management team boasts extensive major project and site experience. They hold formal industry qualifications, including NVQs, IOSH, CSCS, CPCS, and PTS. Their people skills, coupled with major project experience, mean they support our workforce to meet the needs of each project.
Sector heads report directly to VGC Labour Solutions managing director Chris Ryan. They are:
- Steve Kenny, delivery director for civils and HS2 in the north
- Richard Palin, delivery director for process and power
- Chris O’Sullivan, head of delivery for civils and HS2 in the south
They are supported by delivery managers and the resourcing and compliance teams.

Labour managers
Labour managers are the first point of contact on site. They look after our teams across the UK. They are based in offices near their projects, and visit site regularly.
