People inspecting VGC vans

We’ve just taken delivery of 19 new VGC vehicles: the average age of the VGC fleet is now less than a year.

By having newer vehicles to higher specifications, we are helping to cut the company’s carbon footprint from emissions, and of course helping to make sure the VGC teams stay safe on the road. We’re updating and expanding the VGC fleet and the average age of VGC’s vehicles is now under 12 months.

All the new vans are five-star rated by Euro NCAP. They have excellent fuel economy and lower emissions. And we’ve fitted in-car-cleverness tracking systems to all of the VGC fleet, to track driving behaviour. That means that VGC drivers are supported to drive safely with minimum fuel consumption. And if there’s ever an accident, the trackers will prove that the VGC drivers drive safely and well!

There are ten new Ford Custom Transit vans, eight new Fiestas and one new Connect. The Connect can carry five people plus equipment, or you can move the panel to make space to carry more equipment. The Connect has gone out to Sale where we’re working on the Tyne and Wear Metro project, and the other vehicles are going to VGC people on projects around the country.

So we’re doing our bit to help VGC to be more green. And they look really smart, too!

These new vans follow a previous delivery of 24 new vehicles in August this year.

Update:

VGC vansWe took delivery of a further eight vans in March 2016. They all show our FORS certificate, too.
