Why electronic payslips?

Why electronic payslips?

Elaine writes:

I am the payroll manager for the VGC Group. I am responsible for running a weekly payroll for over 1,200 people working on sites across the UK. Over the last 12 months we have brought in electronic payslips.

We are encouraging people to transfer over from paper payslips to electronic payslips. They have the following benefits:

  • Quicker receipt of detailed pay information by Friday afternoon. You will not get your paper payslip through the post until Saturday at the earliest, and sometimes later if there are postal delays.
  • E payslips are secure and can only be opened by a secure password. This is much safer than leaving payslips lying around.
  • You can store the payslips electronically. You can print them out as often as you want and get copies whenever needed.
  • It saves the environment – less paper, fewer envelopes, lower print costs, less fuel for the postal service etc.

I would encourage everyone to transfer over to e-payslips. All you have to do is fill in the form which can be downloaded from our website in Word or pdf. Print it out, sign it, and give it to your VGC supervisor or VGC manager. Or email a scan to payroll at payroll@vgcgroup.co.uk

But please make sure you write your email address clearly so we can read it easily.

Otherwise we can’t register you!

If you do not have an email address, you can get advice on how to set up a free email account.
