For example, we have supported over 50 apprentices at Hinkley Point C where we are supporting client Kier Bam JV on the deep dig.
Mike Jennings gained a BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Construction Operations and Civil Engineering Services in 2018. He works on earthworks on the VRS safety system. Michael said: “It was hard going at first, but all the hard work has paid off with this recognised qualification.”

The right people for each project
We plan workforce requirements with our partners and clients before projects start, so we have the right expert people for each project. We review staffing histograms and manage recruitment and training to make sure our teams have the right skills.
Because we work across a number of sectors, including civil engineering, rail, utilities, nuclear and M&E, we can cross-skill people to work in areas that are most suitable for them and for our clients. People know their skills are valued, and they enjoy sustainable employment and job satisfaction. And that means that VGC attracts and retains the best people.
