Mike Buckingham and Nicki Mason of Cole Hire

VGC Cole Hire has said farewell to Mike Buckingham on his retirement.

As director, Mike has managed the vehicle rental business for 26 years.

“During this time, Mike has offered a very professional and personal service to all our customers, both internal and external,” said Sean Fitzpatrick, VGC executive chairman.

Nicki Mason has been promoted to the role of general manager. Nicki joined Cole Hire as account manager in March 2014, before being promoted to branch manager. She will be responsible for all the day-to-day running of the company, including

  • daily rental of refrigerated and freezer vehicles
  • managing the VGC Group fleet
  • insurance claims
  • fleet maintenance, servicing and upgrades.

“I’m so grateful to Mike,” she said. “He has spent the last six months working with me to make sure we have a smooth handover. He has been a tremendous asset to the business, and we’re all going to miss him.”

Sean added: “All of us at VGC thank Mike for all he has done for the company, and wish him health and happiness and a long retirement.”
