RISQS auditors have given us five stars in the annual rail audit.
Five stars is the highest rating possible. It confirms that our business management system meets the health, safety, operational and competence standards necessary to work in the rail environment. The audit of VGC Labour Solutions and VGC Rail Projects took place over three days this March and resulted in the highest possible score.
The RISQS (Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme – formerly Link-up) auditing team particularly complimented the systems that manage fatigue. VGC’s warning system ensures that operatives do not exceed their working times to keep everyone safe. They also gave positive feedback on our health, safety, quality and environment information pack. VGC was also awarded five stars in 2015, which was the first year that RISQS introduced their rating scale.
HSQE Director John Hannan, who supported the audit, thanked all of the VGC people involved. “The auditing process was thorough and I am really pleased that we passed with flying colours. The audit is an in-depth review of the work we do as a whole. This excellent result is a testament to the systems we have developed over the years, and the hard work of our teams who support our processes.”
Managing Director Laurence McKidd said: “I would like to thank Terry, John, Chantal, Laura K, Shanelle and Alice, who represented us in the audit. I’d also like to congratulate all those people who work hard all year to make sure all our processes are implemented correctly.”
