VGC wins at HS2 Awards

On 4 July 2022, Sean Fitzpatrick, Ciara Pryce, Chris Ryan and Kimberley McGinty were presented with the HS2 Inspiration Award for modern slavery prevention at the House of Commons.

The People Legacy Inspiration Awards celebrates the work that the supply chain is doing in equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), skill employment, and education (SEE), and modern slavery prevention.

VGC is currently working on all four sections of HS2; with operatives on SCS, ALIGN, EKFB, and BBV.

The judges were impressed by the robust recruitment, onboarding, and employee management solutions we had in place that raise awareness about modern slavery, and for managing the risk within our processes. They also liked how we share these across the industry and the supply chain.

Chief Operating Officer, Ciara Pryce, said:

“as a leading recruiter for the construction industry do everything that we can to make sure our workforce are safe and are not exploited by others outside our supply chain. Our robust recruitment, onboarding and employee management processes and extensive communications on the subject have supported the increase in awareness across our company, supply chain and clients.”

Many of our HS2 clients were also recognised for their people legacy achievements, and we are proud to have supported many of the other award-winning programmes including the CSJV buses for the homeless programme, ALIGN’s special educational needs bricklaying workshop, the BBV skills academy, and the SCS supply chain academy.
