Graduate trainees

Our graduate trainee programme supports people into a long-term career in engineering.

Bobby Hayre, section engineer, talks about the programme in the video below:

In summer 2015 VGC VGC was approved by ICE (Institution of Civil Engineers) to deliver graduate training. The programme culminates in graduates’ applying for ICE incorporated engineer status.

Bobby joined our graduate engineer programme in autumn 2014.

He had gained a first class BEng (Hons) in construction engineering management from Portsmouth university. His first project with VGC was the East Kent resignalling project.

e was promoted to site engineer in 2015, and became an essential part of the team working on the Crossrail Anglia project for client Costain.

In September 2016 Bobby was accepted as a technician member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. He is now a section engineer. Watch the video above to hear Bobby talk about his career at VGC.
