In October 2021, VGC oversaw the implementation of a streamlined, paperless solution to delivering the project, which proved to be incredibly successful.

Working closely with supply chain to identify efficiencies, our dedicated procurement team have driven down carbon emissions utilised to resource materials.

Additionally, the VGC procurement team have been recognised for their forward and proactive planning throughout the height of the pandemic, and the consistency in which materials have been resourced, even throughout the most challenging of circumstances.

Another way in which VGC has offset their carbon emissions on the project is by utilising trackers on vehicles to analyse data and create new routes at the best travel times. This has both increased the efficiency of delivery, and offset carbon emissions by reducing travel time across the project.

A key part of VGC’s submission when retendering was the implementation of a digital software database that provides deliverable, measurable results across the project. The software covers streamlining processes, improvement of internal communications and reporting, which has since been implemented after resecuring the contract. This software helps with driving quality, daily progress and safety.

Overall, the rapid pace of implementation of these technical innovations and solutions have ensured that VGC are delivering a more efficient and high quality service to both the client G.Network, and the relevant councils.

This team has been exceptional for us. We have no-over-runs, in fact they finish jobs early, saving company money, and saving on materials as they utilise where they can.
