Vauxhall station is a National Rail, London Underground and London bus interchange station located in South London. It serves London Underground’s Victoria Line, the busiest underground line in terms of passenger journeys per mile. In order to keep pace with the ever increasing number of passengers, the Victoria Line is being upgraded including general improvements and capacity enhancements of the stations.

In 2012 VGC was awarded the contract to completely refurbish some of the subways within Vauxhall underground station. The scope of works included stripping out all the old finishes on the floors, walls and ceilings including isolation of electrical services. VGC installed new low level staircase lighting, central overhead Selux lighting and dual mounted cable management systems to house leaky feeders, power and communication cables. The new finishes included rendering and tiling works and the installation of special staircase nosings.

VGC carried out all works in this subsurface station in compliance with London Underground requirements for   Section 12 stations. The work was also in accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act standards. VGC undertakes a variety of engineering and building works on London Underground infrastructure as both a subcontractor and Principal Contractor.
