Defining Blue status for two major projects

Defining Blue status for two major projects

Our teams on Thames Tideway east and Crossrail Bond Street station have achieved Costain’s prestigious ‘Defining Blue’ status

The award is for exceptional performance in areas including safety, people, health, quality and environment over successive quarters.

On Tideway East, the team met the standards for three quarters in succession: Q1, Q2 and Q3 of 2019. (Q4 results will be announced in January 2020.)

We are working on the east works package of the Thames Tideway tunnel, between Bermondsey and Stratford, for client Costain Vinci Bachy Soletanche JV.

Our team on Crossrail Bond Street station achieved the standard for Q2 and Q3. This follows ‘Defining Blue’ status in 2016, and ‘Contractor of the Year’ awards in 2014 and 2015. We are working for Costain Skanska Joint Venture on the main construction and platform fit-out for the Crossrail station.

Director Chris Ryan congratulated everyone involved in the awards. “I’m proud of the way our people work together to the highest standards,” he said. “Operations manager Chris O’Sullivan, labour managers Donatas Jausicas and James Burke, our HSQE team, our valued key influencers and all our workforce, have all played their part.

“We deliver on our promises to get the job done, and it’s excellent to be recognised by our clients.”
