Excavator driver
Location: South Shields
Pay Rate: £24.00 – £27.00 per hour CIS
Start Date: 14/09/2026
We’re looking for an experienced Excavator driver to join an energy project based in South Shields, working on concrete trough installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate excavators safely and efficiently on site
- Carry out excavation, trenching and ground preparation works
- Work safely around underground services and utilities
- Carry out daily machine checks and report any defects
- Work closely with groundworkers and the wider site team
- Maintain safe working distances around personnel, plant and services
- Ensure excavations are completed accurately and to specification
- Keep the work area safe, clean and organised
Requirements
- Valid CPCS Card – Excavator Operator
- Proof of Right to Work in the UK
- Willingness to complete a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol test
