M&E Commissioning Engineer

Based in South Wales area (covering Cardiff)

£350 – 450 per shift

Contract until April 2025 (possibility of extension)

 

My client is a Tier 1 contractor based in Wales, who is currently looking for a M&E Commissioning engineer to work within the water industry.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Currently working or has worked in a commissioning engineer position
  • Looking after the commissioning water MEICA projects
  • Identify and resolve electrical issues through effective fault finding and troubleshooting,
  • Testing and commissioning of electrical power and ICA control systems including motors, setting up inverter drives, magnetic flow meters, pressure transducers, level instrumentation and valve actuators,
  • Initial start-up and wet commissioning of pumps, blowers, gas boosters, sludge screens, mixing pumps and gas compressors in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions,
  • Functionality testing of process plant as part of Site Acceptance Testing,
  • Completion of detailed commissioning reports to support Take-Over,
  • Ensure commissioning activities comply with Electrical Site Safety Rules and Health and Safety regulations.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong technical background in Electrical Engineering
  • BTEC HNC Engineering (appropriate course content)
  • BS7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • C+G Inspection and test
  • Experience / detailed knowledge of Water Industry Engineering and associated equipment.
  • LV Networks
  • I.T Literate (MS Project, Word, Excel)
  • Health, Safety and Environmental systems and procedures.
  • The ability to effectively engage others to achieve project goals and to operate on a variety of diverse tasks, with a strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to work
  • The ability to work in complex organisations in a team environment and develop relationships and rapport with external clients and internal colleagues.
  • The able to take full responsibility for producing, checking and completing inspection and test sheets
  • Good interpersonal skills and able to work as part of a multi-discipline team
