Quantity Surveyor
12 months rolling contract
Based in Huddersfield
£350 – 450 per shift (plus living away from home allowance)
My Tier 1 client is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join on a contract basis to support the team with an increase in workload, working on a major civil engineering project.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
– To understand the procurement process and targets in securing the services of Sub-Contractors/Suppliers/Design Consultants
– Maximum value for money is achieved.
– Raise commercial awareness and embed commercial focus and best practise across each project team
– Assisting in the preparation of contract documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, drawings
– Set and manage budgets ensuring all costs are correctly allocated into the relevant WBS
– Proactively drive the recording of all contractual entitlements, ensure timely notification of events and accurate pricing and substantiation of change
– Establishment of robust project life cycle cost forecasts updated monthly and monitored against agreed targets
– Notify Managing Surveyor, Civils Director and Project Manager of any commercial disagreements with Employer and Sub-Contractors / Suppliers
REQUIREMENTS:
– Experience working on major civil project
– Worked dealing with subcontracts
– BSc Quantity Surveying or equivalent
– Worked with / for Tier 1 contractors
– Experience with NEC contracts
– Negotiation training
– Have / had PTS (would be beneficial)
