VGC are currently recruiting on behalf of a Tier 1 client and have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join them.  Based from Blantyre.

The Role

Reporting to the Lead Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role within the commercial team, taking responsibility for managing project costs from inception through to completion. You’ll oversee contractual commitments, drive commercial performance, and support the identification of best-value solutions.

With excellent communication and leadership skills, you’ll adopt a client-focused approach while building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, internal teams, and supply chain partners. You’ll also support and mentor junior members of the commercial team.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll hold a relevant commercial qualification and have strong contractual knowledge, alongside proven experience in CVRs and commercial reporting. Previous experience within the civil engineering or infrastructure sectors is essential.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold a degree-level qualification

  • Be chartered or working towards chartership with RICS or CICES

  • Have strong experience within rail, infrastructure or civil engineering

  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Be highly organised with strong analytical and reporting capability

  • Be confident working independently, with strong planning and leadership skills
