Site Engineer
Location: Stansted Airport
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Site Engineer to join our client’s established engineering team at Stansted Airport. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of airfield infrastructure works, with a primary focus on setting out and quality assurance for Pavement Quality (PQ) concrete operations. The role also involves supporting a variety of civil engineering activities including earthworks, drainage, pit and duct installations, and fibre reinforced concrete (FRC) slot drain works within a live airport environment.
Key Responsibilities
– Carry out accurate setting out for PQ concrete paving and associated airfield works.
– Ensure quality assurance (QA) procedures are implemented and maintained throughout project delivery.
– Support the engineering team, including the Section Engineer and Assistant Engineer, in daily site operations.
– Oversee and monitor construction activities relating to:
o Earthworks
o Drainage installations
o Pit and duct works
o FRC slot drain installations
– Maintain accurate site records, surveys, as-built information, and quality documentation.
– Ensure works are completed in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and airport operational requirements.
– Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, and operational stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
– Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance within the live airfield environment.
Minimum Requirements
– Valid UK Driving Licence
– CSCS Card
– Ability to obtain and maintain an Airside Pass
– Fully competent in the use of surveying and setting out equipment
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
– SSSTS Certification
– Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS)
– Previous airfield or airport construction experience
– Experience with PQ concrete works and airfield pavements
