Our recent Cumbria golf day raised over £500 for charity State of Mind Sport.
A good day was had by all who attended. The standard of golf was very high, plus we were blessed with the weather.
Attendees included the Sellafield team from Morgan Sindall, two teams from M&W, Jacobs, and PPS. VGC was represented by Rick Palin, Tommy Hunter, and myself. We had two substitutes for those who weren’t able to attend (they were missed!) one of whom is a planner for Morson International; the other is a previous client of Rick’s.
At the end of an excellent day, the Mayor of Copeland, Mike Starkie, presented the prizes. The winners were Morgan Sindall with a score of 110. VGC came second with a score of 102. Third were Sellafield with a very acceptable score of 98.
Whitehaven golf club provided a fabulous buffet, and we had a really pleasant time outside in the late evening sunset.
I am very pleased with the amount we raised. Some people put in more than was asked of them, and that indicates the sort of people who came. Raising so much for charity State of Mind Sport made all the work that Louise Starkie and I put into the day more than worthwhile. We’re putting a date in the diary for next year!
