We are delighted to announce that we have appointed Chris Hoyle, as Finance Director for the VGC Group, who joins the team today!
This is an important appointment and is part of a planned process to enable Sam Balasandaram to transition to retirement during 2022. We are incredibly grateful to Sam for his incredible support, hard work and loyalty over the last 15 years.
Chris is a qualified chartered accountant and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). He qualified in external audit with Grant Thornton and led audits with private companies from various sectors up to £130m. Since 2012 he has worked within the construction and infrastructure sectors for Turner and Townsend in the UK, Asia and in 2014 transferred to New York to work within the US business overseeing the growth from $100 – $180m as an Associate Director.
His approach to leadership is based around trust, empowerment, and enablement. He thrives on seeing people grow and likes to give responsibility to his team, believing that people give their best when given trust and ownership. He has an open-door policy and appreciates people sharing ideas, comments, and solutions.
He has a strong focus on efficient processes, cash flow, margin and profitability and has led projects to speed up cash collection, margin improvement, managing discretionary spends and implementing finance support systems that resulted in significant savings to the operating costs. His skills and experience will complement those of our existing team and enable continued focus on excellence in strategic financial reporting and management.
VGC has ambitious growth plans and is positioned to secure a significant amount of work over the next few years. We are sure that Chris Hoyle, working alongside our existing financial, commercial and operations teams will continue to ensure that VGC achieve our potential and deliver on our promises through structured & strategic financial planning and analysis.
