We are delighted to be part of a new collaborative charter for developing Heathrow.
The new charter gives a framework for the way VGC and fellow labour partner Danny Sullivan Group will work together with client Morgan Sindall to ensure Heathrow creates a lasting legacy for local people and the UK as a whole.
Other partners working with Morgan Sindall and Heathrow include Flannery Plant, Atkins, Tarmac, LeverTech and Baker Hicks.
Our joint objectives are to
- develop the skills set within Heathrow and leave a lasting legacy
- be leaders in inclusive recruitment practices
- focus on mental health and fatigue.
Working together, we aim to leave a lasting long-term legacy for the airport. In addition, our outcomes will include carbon reduction, a collaborative approach to safety, and a one-team approach.
Programme streams within the charter cover:
- collaboration and contracting
- design and engineering
- procurement and supply chain
- onsite execution
- technology
- capability building.
Each stream has a group of named managers who will work together to lead their elements of the programme. They will collaborate to ensure the objectives are integrated throughout the supply chain.
The charter was launched at an event at the Crowne Plaza near Heathrow on 21 November.
