Costain presented our team at Goodmayes with a SHE award after they stepped in to help out after a passenger incident.
Foreman Andy Smith and his team assisted the emergency services. A passenger train was stopped outside Goodmayes station for 90 minutes during the incident, and the team also took water from their own stores to the stranded passengers.
SHE manager Matt Dean presented the Crossrail Anglia SHE trophy to the team. “I’d like to thank you for showing VGC and Costain in such a good light,” he said. “Your job isn’t always easy, and your ongoing support for the project is appreciated. And when you go the extra mile, as you did in this case, we are delighted to acknowledge it.”
