Richard Palin has been appointed delivery director of our new power and process division.
Richard joined us in early 2019, to head civils infrastructure projects in the north.
In the past 10 years VGC has seen substantial growth. We are now expanding into the national power and process market.
Richard said: “This is a great opportunity, both personally and for VGC Labour Solutions, which is well-positioned to develop our services within this sector. We will offer mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation expertise, focusing on process engineering and power plant projects and planned outages.
“With a solid understanding of the market and a growing team, I will continue to deliver key projects throughout the UK and further afield as the division grows and develops. This will create opportunities for our people as well as meeting our clients’ wide-ranging needs. I look forward to this new chapter at VGC.”
We have restructured VGC Labour Solutions to focus on market sectors (civils, rail, power and HS2). The new structure is accompanied by appropriate internal promotions. Civil infrastructure projects in the north will be managed by Steve Kenny. Richard will develop the new power and process division, working with managing director Chris Ryan and client engagement director Stephen Burns to ensure a high standard of delivery across the UK. He will be based at our Solihull office.
Managing director Chris Ryan said: “This is an exciting time for the power and energy sector. The UK government is making significant investment to deliver net-zero emissions by 2050. With Richard’s extensive experience in this sector, I am confident he will lead our new process and power division from strength to strength.”
