Insurance companies report road traffic crashes increase in the fortnight after the autumn change. Nearly half of the additional crashes, over 100 each year, result in injury to pedestrians.
Drivers:
When driving in the dark or in poor weather, leave more space between you and the vehicle in front, to give you more reaction time for braking.
Check your vehicle before you drive off. Make sure the tyres are in good condition, correctly inflated, the windows are clean and the washer bottle is topped up.

Your area of work may now get dark before you finish for the day, do you need additional lighting to be able to see what you are doing. Does your area need a tidy up to remove obstacles that may not be clearly visible in the dark.
