VGC Group are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a grant by the CITB Leadership and Management Development fund to continue investment in training at the VGC Academy.
The VGC Academy was established in 2018, to bring together all learning and development activities at the VGC Group under one umbrella.
This training includes technical skills, behaviour-based safety programmes, apprenticeships, graduate schemes, and our bespoke behavioural development programme, developed in partnership with Onion People Development. The behavioural development programme equips our people with the behaviours, skills, and knowledge to demonstrate success at VGC and progress from entry level roles through to management and leadership.
The award of this grant from the Leadership and Management Development fund at the CITB, will support us in the continuing to roll out the established behavioural development programme. With this funding we will further develop, adapt, and strengthen the programmes available based on the feedback that we are receiving through our PDP processes and the changing requirements that we are seeing within our sector.
We will be extending the availability of our one-to-one coaching programmes and expanding the schedule of skills-based workshops. We will also be aligning the VGC Academy Management modules with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) qualifications so that our people can achieve industry recognised qualifications, alongside our internal programmes.
Chief Operating Officer, Ciara Pryce, said:
“VGC is seeing the long term benefits of investing in an holistic approach to skills development, from the technical hands-on skills through to the softer and behavioural skills required to manage in complex environments. We are listening to our people and adapting our offering to ensure that our programmes remain relevant, forward looking and developing the skills needed for the future.”
We will be sharing details of how to sign up for these exciting opportunities over the coming weeks and months.
