VGC Group has been recognised as a Highly Commended Supply Chain Family Member at the Morgan Sindall Supply Chain Awards 2025, following successful delivery on the Northumberland Line project.
VGC Group is proud to share that we have been recognised as a Highly Commended Supply Chain Family Member at the Morgan Sindall Supply Chain Awards 2025.
This recognition reflects the strength of delivery achieved on the Northumberland Line project and the collaborative approach taken across the wider supply chain. Working alongside our Labour Desk partner Tribuild, the award highlights what can be achieved through strong partnerships, shared responsibility and a commitment to reliable delivery.
Celebrating Supply Chain Excellence
The Morgan Sindall Supply Chain Awards celebrate organisations and individuals who demonstrate excellence in collaboration, performance and contribution across major infrastructure projects.
Being named a Highly Commended Supply Chain Family Member reinforces VGC’s role as a trusted infrastructure labour partner, with a continued focus on transparency, teamwork and delivery certainty.

Delivery Through Partnership on the Northumberland Line Project
The Northumberland Line project is a significant piece of infrastructure in the North East, requiring coordinated labour planning, clear communication and close collaboration across delivery partners.
VGC worked closely with Tribuild, Morgan Sindall and onsite teams to ensure labour requirements were met consistently throughout the project, whether fulfilled directly by VGC or through partner suppliers. This joined-up approach supported flexibility, resilience and continuity on site, helping teams respond effectively to changing project demands.

Leadership and Delivery on the Ground
A key part of this success was the leadership shown by Alex Wyatt, VGC Delivery Manager, who led the labour requirements for the project.
Working closely with the onsite management team, Alex ensured labour provision remained responsive, coordinated and aligned with evolving project needs. His approach reflected VGC’s commitment to collaboration, accountability and clear communication across the supply chain.
As Alex shared:
“Working with each other, not against, has been key; covering each other’s gaps, celebrating each other’s wins, and always keeping the project’s delivery at the forefront.”
This partnership-led mindset played an important role in supporting delivery outcomes and strengthening working relationships across the project team.
A Shared Achievement Across the Supply Chain
This recognition reflects the collective effort of many individuals and teams.
We would also like to thank Craig Westmoreland for managing the Labour Desk process for Morgan Sindall and the Northumberland Line team, ensuring effective coordination between stakeholders and operatives onsite.
Our thanks extend to the onsite teams, operatives and partner suppliers whose professionalism and commitment made this achievement possible.
We remain focused on supporting major infrastructure projects through strong partnerships, clear delivery models and teams who take pride in doing the job well. We look forward to continuing this approach across future projects and collaborations.
