Donatas Jausicas, labour manager
Donatas (Donny) started at VGC in 2007, and is now a labour manager.
His first role at VGC was as a shuttering carpenter on the East London line.
He then moved to Blackfriars in 2010, where he was promoted to formwork supervisor. He achieved NVQ qualifications in Formwork and site carpentry (level 2), and Occupational work supervisor (level 3).
In 2013 he joined the team working on the new Crossrail station at Farringdon, again, as formwork supervisor and shuttering carpenter. He became a key influencer in April 2014.
In March 2016 Donatas was promoted to contract supervisor. He is now a labour manager, based at VGC’s office in east London. He manages VGC’s workforce involved in
- the Crossrail C512 Whitechapel project
Donatas has gained his CIOB level 3 and 4 qualifications, and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Builders. He has also gained his CIOB Diploma in Construction Site Management. The course included managing health, safety, welfare and risk control at work. Other modules include project planning, managing the quality of site work, improving managerial skills, and managing the technology of modern construction. As part of our investment in the lifelong skills of our people, VGC funded his course, as well as paying Donatas while he attended Barking and Dagenham college one afternoon and evening per week. He graduated in November 2016.
