Rebecca Parfitt, business support lead

Rebecca joined VGC for a placement during her degree. She was asked to stay on, and is now business support lead for VGC Personnel.

While doing her degree in business, Rebecca decided a placement year would broaden her experience within a fast-paced working environment. She chose to do her placement at VGC because she felt the job would be exciting and challenging, and she lives locally. She joined VGC Personnel as process and resourcing partner in June 2018.

After enjoying her year, she was pleased to continue when the team invited her to stay on part-time.

Her duties included contractor care and helping the team resource for jobs. She also ensures that VGC’s contractors are set up on all the internal systems correctly, assists them with any queries and checks their timesheets for processing.

In July 2020, Rebecca was awarded a First Class Honours in BSc Business and Management from Brunel University London.

She graduated in a virtual ceremony at the end of July.

In January 2021 she was promoted to business support lead for VGC Personnel. She will support the team in driving process improvements. In her new role she will also provide marketing, tendering, CSR and resourcing support.

She said:

I was so pleased when I was offered the placement year with VGC Personnel. This allowed me to put the theory learned from my studies into practice.

I had never considered a career within the construction industry before. VGC has completely changed my perception of this.

VGC Personnel has proven to be a very supportive team to work with. I have learned a lot from my colleagues and I am extremely grateful for that.
