Our contract was a key part of the upgrade of the railway infrastructure in readiness for Crossrail trains to run between Stratford and Shenfield at the eastern end of the line.

Our scope of works included:

  • Deep drainage with attenuation tanks
  • LOC and FSP foundations (staging, flat, retained, two-tiered)
  • PSP bases and surrounding civils
  • 10 under track crossings – UTX (1 – 6 tracks)
  • 15km TTS 200/300/430 trough route with walkways
  • Shenfield sidings civils
  • Elevated drivers walkways
  • Junction lighting
  • RRAP installation
  • Piled retaining walls
  • Fencing and environmental sound barriers
  • Station platform CRMS

VGC undertook the construction of three key work sections of the Crossrail north-east spur.

Our team won three Network Rail Star awards on this project. These awards, given after a thorough inspection of our work sites, acknowledge best practice in health, safety and environmental risk control.
