Hillingdon Council, Align JV
Bespoke project to support NEETS with HRU Colleges and Kings Trust within the Hillingdon Borough.
Background
VGC collaborated with Align JV and supply chain to create a bespoke project to support Not Employed or in Education (NEETS) with HRU Colleges and Kings Trust within the Hillingdon Borough. James O Connor, (Align JV) Fiona Dowling (VGC) and Michael Pearson (HC) organised the event to rejuvenate Golden Park (Hayes campus of Uxbridge College) followed by a Networking Session to support the students in their career choices.
Over 4 Days the Supply Chain got involved by supporting the cohorts.
Day 1 & 2
Each day began with the Align JV H & S team briefing on the works to be carried out safely. Activities included planting 800 new hedgerows provided by ATM, painting the planters kindly made and donated by CCS Scaffolding. Planters were filled with soil donated by ATM and seeds and plants to brighten the rest area for the students.
Day 3
Networking session for the students to present CV’s, discuss career options and learn about our industry and supporting them to approach employers.
Day 4
We were delighted that some of the group were able to attend the Align JV South Portal Induction centre on site and meet with Mark Clapp (HS2) and Coralie Peroux (Bouygues) who spoke passionately about the Align project. The attendees were presented with certificates for taking part and we will be supporting some to obtain their CSCS card when they can further their career.
