VGC was contracted to construct six lay-down areas for plant, machinery and track equipment for the HS2 site offices at Euston.

The contract was part of the HS2 civils enabling work for Network Rail.

Scope:

  • Site surveys, setting out and dilapidation reports
  • Site clearance including excavations and mass earthworks
  • Installation of type 1 laydown areas and through-roads connecting the different areas of the compound.

HS2 enabling EustonRisks

The location, in the Network Rail compound area between the Euston mainline and the London Overground line, was very narrow, with restricted access and live track running alongside.

All works were carefully planned to maintain the highest levels of safety and avoid any delays on the running lines.

We finished on time and on budget, allowing the next phase of the HS2 compound works by Murphy to proceed as planned. The area now provides essential storage for HS2 construction works in the Euston area.
