Since VGC started work on the Crossrail projects, we have placed 100% of the workforce based at Bond Street station on Constructing Better Health (CBH) medicals.
By conducting regular health checks for the workers, we are helping to protect their safety and the safety of others. Each worker who has attended a medical is issued with a CBH card which stores their work-related health information. It can travel with them throughout their working life.
This is to ensure that VGC provides a fit and healthy workforce, and that we encourage people to stay healthy.
We have arranged these confidential health screenings to be conducted by Express Medicals at no charge to the worker. These cover:
- Medical questionnaire
- Height, weight and BMI
- Locomotor
- Blood pressure and pulse rate
- Colour vision, confrontation (visual fields), distance vision (aided and unaided), near vision (aided and unaided)
- Audiometry
- Urinalysis (full)
- Peak flow (lung)
We have had 44 workers from Bond Street attend and pass this medical. The details were uploaded to the CBH system, to confirm to VGC and the clients that they are fit to carry out their assigned job roles.

Our teams working at Crossrail Bond Street station have won a series of safety awards – health and safety in action!
