Celebrating Leadership and Legacy at VGC

Today, we pause to recognise and thank two individuals whose leadership and guidance have played a significant role in VGC’s journey.

As Andy Rogers steps down as Non-Executive Director after more than 20 years of close involvement with the business, and Bob Webb retires from the VGC Board following 14 years of service, we celebrate their achievements, contribution and lasting legacy.

Andy Rogers – Over Two Decades of Strategic Leadership and Support

VGC Group thanks Andy Rogers for more than 20 years of invaluable support and leadership as Non-Executive Director.

VGC Chairman Sean Fitzpatrick first met Andy more than 30 years ago, when Andy was a senior leader at Bank of Ireland. From those early conversations, a trusted professional relationship developed that would go on to support VGC during its formative years and beyond.

Andy began working with VGC in 2002, providing consultancy support on business growth strategy, before formally joining the VGC Group Board in 2007. Since then, he has been an invaluable advisor, challenger and supporter, helping guide the business from a turnover of £21 million to nearly £130 million today.

During his time with VGC, Andy played a key role in helping the business to:

  • Establish sustainable growth structures
  • Maintain prudent financial management
  • Share industry insight and introductions across the construction sector and the Irish business community in London
Thank you, Andy Rogers.

Beyond his professional contribution, Andy has also given significant time and energy to community and charitable initiatives, reflecting his commitment to making a positive difference beyond the boardroom.

Andy’s influence on VGC’s growth, governance and culture will be felt for years to come, and we are deeply grateful for the guidance, encouragement and perspective he has brought to the business.

Bob Webb – Experience, Insight and a Lasting Impact

Bob Webb’s guidance has shaped VGC’s growth and development, particularly in risk management, budgeting, graduate support and digital transformation.

Bob joined the VGC Board in 2011, bringing with him a distinguished career at Balfour Beatty, including senior leadership roles on major joint ventures with Laing O’Rourke, Siemens and Carillion, delivering complex projects across the UK and internationally.

VGC’s relationship with Bob began much earlier, during the mid-1990s, when we worked together on the Chiltern Line track renewal project and later the Euston Alliance Remodelling project. From the outset, Bob’s professionalism, commercial acumen and people-focused leadership stood out.

During his 14 years on the Board, Bob made a significant contribution to VGC’s development, particularly in strengthening governance, supporting marketing and graduate pathways, and helping steer the business through periods of digital and operational change.

Bob’s leadership has been defined not only by experience and insight, but by approachability, generosity and genuine care for the people around him.

Wishing Bob Webb a well-earned retirement.

A Shared Legacy Aligned with VGC’s Values

VGC’s success is built on the expertise and dedication of exceptional leaders like Andy and Bob. We celebrate their achievements and lasting impact on the business and our wider community, and thank them both for the role they have played in VGC’s continued success.

Their contribution will not be forgotten, and we wish them both every success in the next chapter.

We invite colleagues, partners and friends of VGC to share their thanks, memories and well wishes as we recognise two outstanding leaders.
