VGC selected for Network Rail framework

VGC Rail Projects has been selected as part of Network Rail’s LNW (London North West) CP5 Civils framework.

Network Rail London North Western Route plans to place approximately £70 million worth of civil engineering projects for the next 3 – 5 years within this framework.

The framework will also provide VGC Rail Projects with opportunities to deliver projects for Network Rail as a principal contractor.

London North West is Network Rail’s largest route, stretching from London Euston to Scotland, and linking Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow. The map on the Network Rail website shows the LNW area. CP (control period) 5 runs until March 2019.

VGC Rail Projects is now part of the following four frameworks:

  • LNW London to Manchester CP5 – Civils framework contract (three to five years) – Network Rail
  • NR4 (MT) framework for minor civil engineering works for SE London (two years) – Network Rail
  • SWIP framework for civils jobs (five years) – London Underground
  • ESR/SER framework (three to four years) – London Underground

 

The Network Rail London North Western Route is divided into four geographical operating areas:

  • Route H West – Cross Pennine and North West
  • Route M – West Midlands and Chilterns
  • Route N – West Coast Main Line, the busiest mixed-traffic corridor in Europe
  • Route O – Merseyrail

There are 13 train operating companies and six freight operators on the network, accommodating a diverse mix of traffic. The route has 10 maintenance delivery units which manage 52 area-based maintenance depots, covering 4,500 miles of rail network.

Route LNW hosts Arriva Trains Wales, Children Railways, CrossCountry, East Midlands Trains, First Greta Wester, London Midland, London Overground Rail Operations Limited, London Underground Limited, Merseyrail, Northern Rail, Southern, TransPennine Express, and Virgin Trains.
