Marketing manager Zena Wigram has gained a second post-graduate marketing diploma.
In a virtual ceremony at the end of last year, she graduated from the Institute of Data and Marketing, with a postgraduate diploma in data-driven marketing with B2B (PG Dip IDM). She achieved the highest grade band in her cohort, a distinction shared with just one other student.
VGC sponsored the year-long course, which is the equivalent to a QCF level 7 or master’s degree.
It included face-to-face lectures, a series of 5000-word assignments, and an examination. (COVID meant the exam was postponed from March to August 2020.)
Course modules included:
- Building brand value
- Customer-centric strategic data-driven planning
- Integrating data-driven communications
- Managing innovation
- Responsible marketing – trust, data, privacy, compliance and the law, including GDPR and PECR (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations)
- Measurement, financial evaluation and metrics.
“I am very grateful to VGC for supporting me to update my qualifications,” she said. “Marketing has moved on since I gained the CIM post-graduate diploma in marketing in 2002. While I have always worked to keep abreast of new developments, it has been really positive to gain a deeper understanding of the changes to the digital world, and the opportunities they present.”
Also last year, Zena attained chartered marketer status with the Chartered Institute of Marketing. This required evidence of continuing professional development for a minimum of two years, plus a chartered marketer assessment.
Zena joined VGC in May 2014 to manage VGC’s marketing strategy, planning and implementation. Her role includes research, branding, social media, media relations, sponsorship, advertising, merchandise and internal communications.
Specific technical training is an important part of the VGC Academy, which aims to helps everyone achieve their potential, with career development options suited to their role and ambitions.
