Chris O’Sullivan promoted to head of delivery

Chris O’Sullivan has been promoted to head of delivery for civils and HS2 south.

Chris has been at VGC for over 10 years. He has been a key part of the team that has delivered over 300% growth at VGC in the past 10 years, and seen the company grow into a market leader across the UK.

When Chris first joined VGC in 2008, on the East London line project, he was a crane controller. By summer 2009, he had been promoted to contract supervisor. In early 2014, he became operations manager for major projects in London and the south. His new role will see him further develop the southern region under managing director Chris Ryan.

At present working mostly from home in line with government guidelines, in future Chris will regularly visit our Ruislip, Canning Town and Plymouth offices.

Chris said: “I am fortunate to be leading a great team. Despite a difficult 2020 due to the pandemic, they have continually worked to support our clients.

“We all look forward to helping to deliver major infrastructure projects in the south over the next decade and beyond. I am focused on creating opportunities for people in my team and all of our workforce. I can’t wait to begin this new chapter at VGC.”

Restructure

VGC Labour Solutions has recently been restructured to focus on sector-based markets (civils, rail, power and HS2). Chris will work closely with the other members of the labour solutions team. Together they will ensure high standard of delivery across the UK, in what is an exciting time for the construction industry.

VGC core values

Managing director Chris Ryan said: “I am looking forward to seeing Chris further develop VGC business across the south. He and his team will ensure every client will continue to receive the full VGC service underpinned by our core values.”
