Our people on the project are involved in building a temporary factory to manufacture the precast concrete lining segments for the Chiltern tunnels.

Our team includes general operatives, cleaners, drivers, fitters, electricians, slingers, gantry crane operatives and welders. They are supported by labour manager Nick Wells.

Most people are local, and we are helping them to upskill with experience and training courses. These include MEWP, harness, abrasive wheels and gantry crane training. As team members enhance their skills and the project moves forward, they will move on to new roles.

Shakeel Kalyan, a member of the warehouse team, won a value award from the project in June 2021 for “going beyond every day”.

CSR manager Kimberley McGinty supports the project’s schools engagement work with online work experience sessions.

She has also worked with client Align to include the project in our Go Beyond the Gates programme to support ex-offenders into construction careers.
