Goodmayes team wins Costain safety award
Costain presented our team at Goodmayes with a SHE award after they stepped in to help out after a passenger incident. Foreman Andy Smith and his team assisted the emergency services. A passenger train was stopped outside Goodmayes station for 90 minutes during the incident, and the team also took water from their own stores to

Two further Network Rail Star awards
Our rail teams have won a further two Network Rail star awards for their work on Crossrail Anglia sub-station projects. Crossrail’s senior construction manager assessed the Gidea Park and Shenfield sites on 27 June. At each of the sites, VGC is building a substation, with works including site investigation, demolition and site clearance excavation and construction

James Berry highly commended in Crossrail awards
At the Crossrail awards event on 29 March, apprentice James Berry was highly commended in the Apprenticeship Collaboration category. “This is a great achievement,” said Chris Ryan, director of VGC Labour Solutions south. “James was successful out of over 650 apprentices across the project. Well done to him, and to Lewis Bennett who was also nominated.”

A second Network Rail Star for VGC's Crossrail Anglia team

The Supply Chain Sustainability School, of which VGC is a gold level partner, has won the Best Practice in Procurement award at the 2016 British Construction Industry Awards. Crossrail sustainability award for VGC
VGC is honoured to have won the Crossrail Sustainability award for maximising employment opportunities.
