Fair employment
For all staff, our Home Office-trained team checks passports and right to work. Then their labour manager conducts face-to-face interviews. We confirm all qualifications, and our managers are fully trained in chain of custody for drugs and alcohol tests.
Our recruiting teams are also trained in unconscious bias for fair recruitment, and in spotting the signs of modern slavery. VGC was the first labour supplier to gain the Ethical Labour Sourcing Standard.
We look after each other
Monthly safety videos, trained mental health first aiders and COVID-secure processes are some of the ways we keep our people safe and well. Wellbeing champion Fiona Dowling leads a programme of emotional, physical and financial wellbeing. This incorporates Be Safe by Choice, our behavioural safety programme.
Our corporate social responsibility programme includes schools engagement, support for military service-leavers, and our award-winning Go Beyond the Gates programme to help ex-offenders into sustainable employment. We are a Kickstart-approved employer.
The VGC Academy covers a wide range of training to help every member of VGC’s workforce to achieve their full potential.
Our process and power division is led by delivery director Rick Palin and delivery manager Maxine Grange. To talk to them about your needs, please email enq@vgcgroup.co.uk
